About Me

My life as a musician began over 30 years ago when I took my first piano lesson. Along the way, I studied the flute and voice and participated in choral, band and orchestral activities, but I always maintained the piano as my primary instrument.

My love of playing music brought me to SUNY Purchase where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in piano performance. I continued my studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, earning a Masters of Music. I have completed my classroom work to earn a Doctor of Musicology from CUNY Graduate Center in New York City.

In addition to school, I studied in New York City with renowned pianist Eleanor Hancock, one of the founding members of the Taubmann Institute of Piano.

I am currently co-chairperson for the New York State Music Teachers' Association, District 4; chairperson for the Young Originals student composition project, sponsored by NYSMTA, District 4; and composition competition coordinator for the State of New York Music Teachers' Association.

I am an active member of
MTNA (Music Teachers National Association);

NGPT (National Guild of Piano Teachers)

and a certified Musikgarten Instructor.

As Music Director of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Brewster, NY, I direct two choirs (adult and children), and provide both organ and piano music for services.  In addition, with colleagues I perform four-hand and two-piano repertoire regularly throughout the greater New York City area.
