PRIVATE LESSONS

At Little House Piano Studio, lessons are custom tailored to suit students’ particular talents and ambitions. Students study traditional classical piano repertoire from the Baroque Period through the 21st Century, in conjunction with other styles such as new-age, pop, sacred, folk or jazz music.

Twice each school year (January and June), the students of Little House Piano Studio offer a recital at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Somers, NY on a beautiful seven-foot Ste inway piano whose music fills the sanctuary. All students are encouraged to perform in these recitals and we work together to prepare for the event.

Music theory, keyboard harmony, ear training, improvisation and composition are taught throughout the year, with emphasis changing for particular events.

Weekly lessons and biannual studio recitals provide important practice incentives and instruction, but auditions, composing and theoretical exams, outside of my studio and for other musicteachers provide fresh practice goals and challenges.
